The Blood Connection will be at Union’s Walmart today from 2-7 for blood donations. There is a constant need for donations to supply area hospitals with the blood they need. All donors will receive a $20 eGift card instantly, plus a bonus $30 eGift card 1-3 days after the donation. You can make an appointment at donate.thebloodconnection.org. You can also fill out your health history questionnaire online the day of your donation to save time. To prepare to give, The Blood Connection advises that you eat a healthy and hearty meal before donating, drink at least 16 ounces of water before donating, remember to bring your donor card or photo ID with your birth date when you donate, and they remind you that platelet donors must also be aspirin-free for 48 hours prior to their appointment.
