FoodShare Union County Changes to Monthly Schedule Until Summer

Large box of produce is $20; small box is $10

Foodshare Union County is still going strong in Union County, but during the next few months, they are shifting to a monthly schedule before going back to a biweekly schedule in June. '

If you are not familiar with the program, you can purchase a small box of produce, weighing approximately 15-18 pounds, for $15, or a large box of produce, weighing 18-22 pounds, for $20. SNAP participants pay $5 for a small box and $10 for a large box, with Healthy Bucks taking care of the rest of the cost. The produce is grown locally as much as possible, with some things supplemented from farmers across the state.

Today is the deadline to order a box this month. Call 427-1530 before 5 p.m. today to place an order. You will then pick up the produce box next Thursday, February 10, between 12-3. The pickup location changed recently. You can now pick up the produce boxes at 934 Forest Street in Jonesville, at the former Park Sterling Bank building up there.
