Price change will allow group to provide more produce to customers
FoodShare Union County just wrapped up their first produce box sale of the year, as those who had ordered produce for January picked up their boxes yesterday. The next order deadline for produce boxes is Friday, February 17, at 5 p.m., with pickup scheduled the following Thursday, February 23, from 12-3 p.m.. The price of the boxes increased at the beginning of the year. A small box of produce is now $20, and a large box is now $25. The cost of produce has risen over the past year, and The RobinHood Group said they feel the increase will allow them to provide even more fruit and vegetables to their customers. SNAP recipients still pay the same that they did, $5 for a small box and $10 for a large box. Healthy Bucks increased their reimbursement amount from $10 to $15.
