Jennings faces drug and weapons charges
We have more information on two other charges that Andrew Reid Jennings faces. Jennings was arrested last week for breaking into a residence on North Evans Street. Last Tuesday, investigators with the Union County Narcotics Task Force received information that Jennings was at the Fresh Air Galaxy and that he had an active warrant for his arrest. Investigator Reggie Ellison informed city officers and asked them to respond. Ellison saw Jennings walk out of the store and get into a vehicle. He approached the vehicle and asked Jennings to get out, as he had a warrant for his arrest. Ellison noticed a black magnetic box and a clip with ammunition in the seat where Jennings had been sitting. He asked if there was a gun in the vehicle, and then searched the vehicle, due to Jennings being a convicted felon who could not possess a firearm and seeing the clip with ammunition in plain view. Ellison found a black 40-caliber Baretta pistol in the vehicle. Inside the black box, he found a quantity of methamphetamine. He also found a small baggie with meth and a red set of digital scales in a backpack. Jennings claimed that everything in the first seat was his.
Ellison then had the driver, identified as Misty Keisler, step out of the car. She told him she had a pistol in her pocketbook. It was a Phoenix Arms 22-caliber pistol. She was arrested and charged with unlawful carrying of a handgun. Jennings was transported to jail on the active warrant. He was charged with unlawful carrying of a handgun, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and trafficking methamphetamine, greater than 28 grams but less than 100 grams, third or subsequent offense. Two magazines containing 65 40-caliber bullets and 13 22-caliber bullets were seized, along with Jennings’ cell phone. Keisler was released on bond, but Jennings remains in the Union County Detention Center. Bond on his charges totals just over $51,000.
