Parade Season Winds Down This Weekend

Daniel Prince

Bantam Chef to host the Truck Full of Toys tomorrow morning

The final two Christmas parades of the season are scheduled for this weekend. Carlisle’s annual Christmas parade is scheduled for Saturday at 2 p.m. This year’s parade marshal will be former Union County Supervisor and current magistrate judge Frank Hart. Lockhart’s Christmas Parade will cap off the season Sunday at 3 p.m. WBCU will broadcast both parades live on 1460 AM, 103.5 FM, online at wbcuradio.com, and on your smart phone with our Android and iPhone apps. The WBCU Truck Full of Toys will be in both parades, as well.

In addition to the parades, the truck will be out at Bantam Chef this Friday morning from 9-10 a.m. as Daniel Prince will broadcast live from there. Owners Mike and Beth Lancaster have invited us to the restaurant to try and bring in more donations for the Truck Full of Toys. Also, Chris Woodson and Charlie Long will broadcast live from Dollar General in the Merchant’s Walk Shopping Center Saturday morning from 10-noon. Monday is the last day to bring toys or money for toys for this year’s campaign. Anything brought after that will be saved for next year.

WBCU thanks all the sponsors and all the citizens who make the Truck Full of Toys drive a success each year. This year, we have received large donations of toys from USC Union, Union Medical Center, and Greater Union Church. Those, coupled with all the individual donations we have received and money from the sponsors, have gone to grow the impact of the program this year.
