Tonight will be first meeting since board member Frank M. Hart passed away
The Union County Board of School Trustees will meet for their regular January meeting. It will be the first since board member Frank M. Hart passed away. An executive session is planned at 6:30 to deal with a student discipline matter, personnel matters, a contractual matter, and to deal with the superintendent goals and evaluation. The regular session will open at around 7:30.
Superintendent Joey Haney will give his updates to the board and will recognize the Distinguished Literacy Teachers of the Year. Board chair Manning Jeter will hold the annual reading of the Ethical Principles, which each school board member will sign. The poster will then hang in the multi-purpose room throughout the year. Elise Ashby with the RobinHood Group is expected to attend and present an update on that group’s partnership with the district. Director of Instruction Dr. Lacresha Byrd will present a plan for 4K for the 2023-2024 school year for approval. Outgoing Finance Director Kelly Richardson will present the monthly budget report to the board. Personnel Director Jeff Stribble will present the personnel report for approval by the board. After that, the meeting will adjourn. The public is invited to attend.
