$1155 worth of merchandise stolen in June 2021 incident

A Spartanburg woman has been arrested in a shoplifting case from two years ago. According to the arrest warrant from the Union Public Safety Department, 33-year-old Kimberly Denise Cogdell is charged with shoplifting, enhanced for a third or subsequent offense. Cogdell is accused of going to Walmart on June 7, 2021. She went to the sporting goods section and selected five life jackets. She then went to electronics and selected two televisions. She got two shoe racks from the home living department. She continued shopping and selected more items that were not identifiable on the video. The loss prevention officer said the woman then left her cart unattended and moved her vehicle to another location in the parking lot. She then reentered the store, got her cart, walked around the store for a while, and then exited the store through the Garden Center fire exit door. She did not pay for any of the items. A man got out of her vehicle and helped her load the items into it. The life jackets, televisions, and shoe racks were valued at $1155. The case was turned over to investigations. Cogdell was arrested Tuesday morning and booked into the Union County Detention Center.
