Mayor pro-tem to be elected, Community Change guidelines to be updated
Union City Council is set to meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. at Union City Hall, located at 101 Sharpe Avenue. City Administrator Joe Nichols is scheduled to make some comments to council prior to honoring those with December work anniversaries. Five longtime employees will be honored, with years of service ranging from 16-43. Mark Cathcart is expected to address council concerning Union County 4-H, and Elise Ashby is on the agenda to talk about the Farmers’ Market.
In new business, council will elect its Mayor Pro Tempore. They will take up a resolution regarding electric upgrades and improvements to the water treatment plant. They will have a discussion and possible motion on updated guidelines to the Community Change Program. They will also have a discussion and possible motion on renewing the heating and cooling assistance program. After a time of public comment, an executive session is planned, though its reason is not on the agenda. Following that, the meeting will adjourn. The public is invited to attend.
