Stephanie Wicker from Buffalo Elementary wins district honor

The Union County School District honored its Distinguished Literacy Educators from each school Thursday at its annual drop-in reception. District officials say they are proud of the work the educators do in motivating students to read, develop reading skills, and inspire a love and appreciation of reading. Those honored are: Stephanie Wicker, a third-grade teacher at Buffalo Elementary; Brandi Jeter-Brannon, a Reading Recovery teacher at Foster Park Elementary; Jen Roberts, a first-grade teacher at Jonesville Elementary; and Cathy Poole, the media specialist at Monarch Elementary. The District Distinguished Literacy Teacher of the Year this year is Stephanie Wicker.
