Stolen purse leads to multiple charges
A Union man was arrested and charged with a vehicle break-in that occurred back on December 1. A woman walked into Public Safety Headquarters that day and spoke to Cpl. Malik Harris. She stated that her 2016 Kia Sedona van was parked at her residence on Morris Circle the previous day. Later that night, she went out to the van to get some snacks, leaving the vehicle unlocked. The next morning when she went to take her daughter to school, she noticed her purse was missing from the vehicle. It contained a pair of Airpods, two debit cards, a knife, a clear makeup case, another pair of earphones, and $20 in cash. She went to Founders Federal Credit Union about the debit cards, and they gave her a copy of a transaction on December 1 showing $20 was withdrawn to a Cash App account.
As a result of the investigation, 21-year-old Michael Anthony Dinneen, of Gage Avenue, was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Union County Detention Center. Dinneen is charged with breaking and entering of an automobile, financial transaction card theft, and financial transaction card fraud. Bond was set at $11,000 on the charges, and Dinneen remains in jail.
